Three tour options are available for school groups or other children's groups (scouts, for example). The standard tour is available to groups as small as 7 students; the other two tours are designed for groups of 15 or more. One chaperone per 8 students is free; additional adults pay $4.00 each.

A. Standard Tour
Standard Tour of the 1719 Hans Herr House through the küche, stube, kammer, attic, and cellar takes approximately 45 minutes. Your knowledgeable and personable guide will discuss early Pennsylvania German architecture, the history and doctrine of the Anabaptist faith, colonial family life, food preparation and much more.

$1.50 - Students through grade 8
$3.00 - Students grade 9 and above

B. House and Grounds Tour
A tour of the 1719 Herr House with conversation about early Pennsylvania German architecture, Anabaptist faith, colonial family life, etc, plus a guided tour of the museum exhibit buildings and grounds including the blacksmith shop, smokehouse and bake oven and  a chance to learn and play colonial period games.

$3.00 - Students through grade 8
$4.00 - Students grade 9 and above

C. Grand Tour
A complete tour of the house and exhibit buildings, including a special visit to the 1835 Shaub House and a wagon ride through the grounds.

$4.00 - Students through grade 8
$5.00 - Students grade 9 and above

Call the 1719 Hans Herr House office at (717) 464-4438, Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. After reserving, we will mail a confirmation card to your school. Field trips usually require 45 to 90 minutes to complete, but we will work to accommodate your schedule. Please let us know if you would like to change the timing of your trip.
